Existing poles or track:
Please tell us what type of track/pole you have, the measurement side to side, excluding any finials ( track width) and the finished drop of the curtains required (overall drop). It is usual for curtains on a pole to hang underneath the pole, and curtains on a track to hang in front, covering the track.For a pole: take the measurement from the eye in the ring to where you want the curtains to finish.
For a track: measure from the top of the track to where you would like the curtains to finish, add ½” / 1cm approx to cover top of track
How long?
- If being fitted in the recess, take ½” / 1cm from the recess measurement.
- If Apron length, 4” below cill, unless there is a radiator obstructing.
- If full length, use the hook drop less ½” / 1cm & add stand-up required.
- If you would like curtains to be puddled on the floor, allow approximately 2”- 4” additional length.

In general, tracks should be set at least 15cm / 6" above the window opening so that the tape etc does not show to the outside.
Note - Please do not use feet & inches as this has a built in chance of error when a calculator is used to convert - give you feet + a decimal of foot not the inches!
