If you are buying new tracks or poles, this is the time to see if there is a better position for them. The proportions of a window can often be improved when the pelmet board ( often called a top board ) is positioned a good distance above the window opening and the wall above the window covered with the valance or pelmet.

 

A window will always look more elegant when it is higher than it is wide.  Fit any new tracks or poles before you confirm the drop of your curtains.

 

The choice between a pole or a track is one of personal preference, however, a track is not normally seen, as it is intended to be hidden under a valance or pelmet or tucked up behind a fabric covered fascia.

A pole is usually a decorative item and can be made from wood, metal or acrylic. 

Finishes range from stained & polished wood, through gilding, fabric covering, brass, chrome to clear perspex. 

 

We offer a made to measure range of painted or fabric covered topboards,

3”x1”, 5”x 1”, 6”x 1” & 8”x 1” lengths up to 2.5m in 1 piece (5m with centre join) Hook-side velcro is pre-attached and all brackets included. 

These boards are available with / without corded metal track

 

The same size boards are also available with a 5cm fascia, covered in fabric.

 

We offer a metal track which can be `home bent'.  It comes complete with inserts to keep the runner channel in shape and can be bent in both directions, alternatively our network of freelance fitters can custom bend bay tracks & fix mitred topboards.

Plastic track will only carry the lightest of curtains and we think it is unlikely to be suitable for our curtains.

 

Solid (not plated) brass poles are available in 1”, 1½”, 2”, 2½” & 3” diameters 

Finishes are polished brass, satin brass, antique brass, bronze, polished or satin chrome, polished or satin copper, gun metal & polished or satin nickel.

 

 

Wood poles are available in 1½”, 2”, 2½”& 3” plain pole or reeded. Custom stained & polished or painted / gilded / glazed. Ash wood poles are available stained & polished or limed/water-washed.
